Thursday 3rd December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 3rd Primary students of SEK International School Santa Isabel together with students of the TSEAS program (Superior Technician in Teaching and Social Sport Animation) at UCJC have organized awareness sessions to celebrate this day. The objective is to know the needs and adaptations that Persons with Disabilities to do in order to participate in Sporting activities.
In addition to these activities, the participants could play some of the specifically adapted sports that have been made for these individuals like Goalball (for the Visually Impaired) and Boccia (for those with Intellectual Disabilities).
Our 3rd grade students have shown they are interested in participating and learning from the students of TSEAS and have reflected on the importance of creating visibility and promoting integration of Persons with Disabilities into the areas of Education and Sports.
