Footprints of Women in the streets of Madrid

Celebrating International Women’s Day, students from first grade at SEK-Santa Isabel went on a walking tour, exploring streets named after women. In this learning path, Footprints of Women in the streets of Madrid, students renamed streets after inspiring women.

Students explored the different stories and female figures that are behind the streets of our environment; stories of women throughout time, who have in common their importance within our community.

Students reflected on relevant women in their own lives, and the contributions of these women to the world; as well as the reasons for the difference in female representation in the nomenclature of the streets throughout history and how this is changing.
