It delivers the IB® Primary Years Programme for the stages:

  • Nursery and Preschool (from 3 to 6 years of age)
  • Primary Education (from 6 to 12 years of age)

SEK-Santa Isabel students continue onto their Secondary and Baccalaureate studies at SEK-Ciudalcampo or SEK-El Castillo, both in Madrid, where the IB® programmes are offered:

  • MYP: Middle Years Programme.
  • DP: Diploma Programme.

The PYP is an international curricular educational framework designed to favour the full development of children.

The ethos of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is expressed in series of attributes and ideal characteristics to instil in children an international mindset and with a constructivist, inquiry-based approach and conceptual and cross-curricular learning.

The IB® Primary Years Programme prepares students for lifelong independent learning and encourages a student personality that is active, sympathetic, respectful and participative.

The PYP provides each student with a framework for inquiry, exploration and study, following six transdisciplinary topics common to all educational areas: Who we are, where we are in time and space, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organise ourselves and how we share the planet.

The learning process promotes transdisciplinarity that hinges on these six topics: Languages, Social Studies, Mathematics, Art, Science and Technology, Personal, Social and Physical Education.

Bilingual day with native English-speaking teachers, with an optimal balance in the use of both languages.

Early Childhood 1 & 2: 65% of the day in English.

Year 3 Early Childhood and Primary: 50% of the school day in English.

Students study a second foreign language (French or German) from the first year of Primary. Chinese as an extracurricular activity.

All languages are taught by native-speaking teachers.

To promote multiculturalism, we offer an immersion programme for our international multilingual students.
